Save Spotify and win a car!
October 9, 2009 / Spotify ‘could be dead within a year’
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek
“In the letter Mr Ek called on the music companies to stop the practice whereby Spotify has to pay them a fee every time a track was played. Instead, he said the future lay in a system where money is made through different routes…”

Daniel Ek says Spotify can’t make enough millions to survive
Unless he can steal your music. (although some say paying artists 0.00001 cents a play is theft already!)
But don’t worry… PlayFairNow.org has a proposal and a competition to help Daniel Ek and Spotify.
The Proposal
Daniel Ek shall work for 1p a day until Spotify can figure out how to run a
profitable business. Actualy, forget that… We have been inspired by Daniel
Ek’s “new business model” concept. As artists our new business model is to be paid a fair price for our work and until we decide we are making enough money we propose that Daniel Ek find some other way of getting paid.
The Competition
Let’s pool our creative powers and help Daniel Ek find some other way of getting paid. The artist that contributes the best suggestion will receive Daniel Ek’s car. (Sorry Daniel, we propose you find some other way to get to work too!)
