Rosie and Me - Artist of the Week
Rosie and Me: by Marcelo StammerRosie and Me are from Curitiba, Brazil. Slightly folk-ish and a bit pop-like, their music is driven by simple chords and introspective lyrics.
They are: Rosanne Machado (vocals/acoustic guitars/banjo), Ivan Camargo (acoustic guitars), Guilherme Miranda (bass guitars), Tiago Barbosa (drums/perc) and Thomas Kossar (electric guitars).
Darkest Horse by Rosie and Me
At first they didn’t have a full band, because Rosanne would record the songs by herself just for fun and upload the songs to MySpace and Last.fm. After a few months, She noticed that the number of listeners was increasing and then decided to invite the guys to play with her and help with the arrangements of the songs.
Their major influences are The Weepies, Stars, Band of Horses, William Fitzsimmons and Bon Iver.
On March, 19th, they self-released “Bird and Whale” EP, which is available worldwide physically and online at http://www.rosieandmemusic.com , for only $5 dollars.
