Now they currently spend time in the Central California towns of Atascadero and Santa Barbara and are working most of their demos into a couple of albums. One is going by the title of “California Sour” and the other simply as “<3… (the Wools)”. Fair HeronFair Heron Fair Heron is an indie electro trio based in Lexington, KY comprised of Ellie Herring, Amber Dawn, and Joseph Wallin. They typically reorient traditional pop song formats; incorporating elements of electronica, minimalism, and r&b on sneaky occasions. They produce most material by way of Reason, Ableton Live and various Midi controllers.

Breaking DRM for Fair Use might be legal...

A new court ruling on Friday could set a legal precedent that allows bypassing digital rights management (DRM) for fair use purposes. New Orleans circuit Judge Emilio Garza found that GE hadn’t violated the Digital Millennium Copyright Act by using hacked security dongles to repair uninterruptible power supplies from MGE UPS Systems as the goal itself was legal. While a jury fined GE $4.6 million for breaking copyright and misusing trade secrets, Judge Garza determined the DMCA hadn’t been broken, as using hacked items by itself didn’t constitute violating protection at the same time.Read more...

In the offices of BlancoMusic.com, Piano Segundo and the label staff are trying to register the act’s music with the PPL. Standard admin stuff, but the drop-down list of genres is a bit restrictive. ‘Jazz, Dance, Erotic?’ All of the above. ‘Adult Contemporary?’ Is that a euphemism? ‘Bhangra’ No. Definitely not Bhangra.Read more...

This band is simply stunning. It was incredibly difficult to pick one song to feature as they are all so unique and enchanting. Botched Fairytale are Mariel McCormack on all vocals, percussion and instrumentation and Marie O’Hara on percussion and instrumentation. Founded in 2008, since then they have been working on their debuit album entitled Botched Fairytale. Having not yet committed to a band name and resulting out of ambiguity regarding the myspace page some followers have started to call them Botched Fairytale.Read more...

American Idol show sued for not paying musicians...

The musicians in the “American Idol” band are suing the show, according to reports

The band is angry that the producers of the hit series have been selling downloads and ringtones of songs from the show — without paying them, according to a lawsuit filed late Friday in LA.

The suit is seeking $500,000 in damages from the show’s producers, according to an Internet report posted over the weekend.
The show has been selling downloads of performances by contestants since Season 4, the suit says.Read more...
